Introduction
The delivery of integrated children’s services is a major policy and management challenge for local authorities. The Laming Inquiry and subsequent Children’s Act 2004 prompted extensive public debate on child protection issues and the trials of joint working across public sector agencies. The spotlight is now on local authorities to provide joined-up services to children, young people and their families. The structure revolves around the concept of prevention, not cure and the functional application of practitioners and integrated processes whilst giving each child the best opportunities to meet their full potential.
